Question 2
How does your media project represent particular social groups?
We have represented gender and age in our work. Expanding on this when looking at gender we have explored the typical female this is a victim but we have also added in a character that is refreshingly not in need of saving but in fact becomes the heroin. In addition to this we have also represented age clearly showing the difference between teenagers and adults, the girls that are captured look vulnerable and scared, but the women who is the heroin seems in control and hides her feelings from the danger that threatens her. We have represented these social groups by the use of makeup and facial expressions the other girl’s eyes have no make up on to show their innocenece. The older girl ( Rachel) has eye makeup on to show her maturness. In addition to this gender is sterotypically reflected; as the the male is depicted as a strong and thretening male - this is demonstrated by the use of costume as he wears black boots, the use of the colour black can indicate a danger or death. In addition to this he wears black trousers and a black hoody, this is used to hide his indentity and leave the audience in the unknown.
